Statewide Criminal History Search |

This inquiry is conducted on a statewide
basis for criminal conviction information. This search is not available in all
states. Illinois does allow a statewide search but a State Police authorized Consent Form, signed by the
subject of the inquiry, is required. Turn around time can take a considerable amount of time, anywhere from two weeks to several months. The State must verify convictions if they have arrest information.
This is a good search to use as a backup to the county-by-county criminal search. It is
recommended that this search be conducted in addition to the county criminal search
since it is possible that counties may not report all offenses to the state. Some
states charge a separate fee and this fee will be included in the search. For other
than Illinois call for price quote. |

Most states require that convicted sex offenders register in the county
where they reside. It should be noted that not all offenders
have registered, are in violation and therefore may
not be found on the county registration roster.
