Bill Allows Courts to Appoint Detective Agencies to Serve Process

Senate Bill 257 (Cullerton) Private Investigators/Process. Amends the "Civil Practice" Article of the Code of Civil Procedure; provides that upon motion and in its discretion, the court may appoint as a special process server a licensed (Illinois) private detective agency; also provides that under the appointment, any employee of the agency who is registered under the Act may serve process.
